RRP vs MAP: What's the difference?
MSRP and MAP have to do with the price of the product.
As explained here, MAP prices define the lowest price at which a product can be offered for sale. They do not attempt to recommend actual retail prices. That's what MSRP does.
Hesuggested retail price(RRP) is the selling price that a manufacturer recommends at the point of sale.
MSRP reflects the value desired by the brand. For example, a luxury brand needs prices that reflect the perceived value that the brand wants for its product.
A name brand jersey can have an MSRP of $8 or $80, or some other number, depending on the brand.
While MAP is the lower limit, MSRP is the upper limit.

Is MAP legal?
It is recommended that you review the laws of the country where you do business and design your MAP policy with that in mind.
The same is true when a brand seeks to enforce its MAP policy in the event of a violation.
In the US, for example, it is allowed to set MAP policies.
One of the most important precedents in this regard isLeegin Creative Leather Goods, Inc. Gegen PSKS, Inc.(2007).
In this landmark case, the US Supreme Court struck down its "per se illegal" rule regarding MAP. It is not illegal per se for manufacturers to set binding minimum prices for their products.
Instead, binding minimum prices would be subject to the “rule of reason”.
In this case, Leegin's policy was to force retailers to charge minimum prices for their products. As a result, they stopped selling to the PSKS store. PSKS claimed that Leegin violated antitrust laws in doing so.
The Supreme Court held that the validity of any policy should be evaluated according to the rule of common sense, rather than declaring it illegal per se.
In other words, the question of enforcing the MAP Directive must be decided on a case-by-case basis.
In the US, the MAP policy was intended to state that there are no limits to a retailer's right to set prices.AppliedoutsidesalePrice Maintenance or Resale Price (RPM).

In other words, if there is no agreement with the retailer, manufacturers can limit the price of a product.
Consequently, brands can enforce violations of the MAP guidelines in the United States. However, the terms of the MAP policy must not be anti-competitive.

Authorized distributors and resellers can benefit from and comply with MAP policies to promote their business and their relationship with the manufacturer.

If the reseller still has products at this point and does not comply, the manufacturer can send a cease and desist letter. If the reseller does not comply, the brand may stop selling products.
